The Lake

Le Fearne’s is 12 acres in size and is situated in the Champagne region of France, as is common with mostly all the lakes in the Champagne region, 3.5hrs from Calais will find you looking out over the stunning fishery.

This former gravel pit has matured into a great fishery over a short space of time and is hidden behind large willow trees which surround it, nature has been allowed to flourish in the margins with over hanging bushes, reeds and rushes giving each swim a feeling of total seclusion.

There are 10 swims available on the lake, with a maximum of 6 anglers allowed to fish at anyone time, this gives everyone plenty of options and space should they wish to move around the lake, though with exclusive bookings of the lake we will allow this number to increase.

Each of the swims gives the angler plenty of water to fish in, the island in the lake is an easy cast from most of the swims with a maximum cast being approx 90yrds, the margins gently slope down from 3ft to 9ft, the lake bed is relatively snag free and is mostly sand with plenty of gravel bars and patches of silt which are teaming with naturals.

All the swims have been purpose built with the carper in mind and can accommodate the largest of bivvies with ease. The owner Frank has gone to great lengths to ensure that his fish stock are looked after, so to prevent the possibility of passing on any diseases, in each swim he has installed a large unhooking mat, weigh sling and landing net. Access around the lake is excellent; you can drive your car round the lake, and have the convenience of keeping your car next to your swim.
